The Society for the Study of Psychiatry and Culture invites you to be an exhibitor at our 2016 annual meeting which will be held at the Hubert Humphrey School of Public Affairs of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, May 5-7. SSPC focuses attention on the importance of cultural factors in psychiatric care, education, and research through its group and individual efforts.

The goals of SSPC are:

  • To identify and meet the professional needs of our members
  • To promote quality treatment and prevention of mental illness globally as well as locally
  • To develop and implement culturally competent ways to combat the stigma of mental illness in all societies
  • To educate people with mental illness, their caregivers and providers, and the general population about mental health and mental illness in diverse cultural communities
  • To promote access to culturally competent quality psychiatric care

The Society meets annually for three days to coordinate our efforts in cultural psychiatry and in medical and psychiatric education. We sponsor annual travel awards for students, residents or fellows to attend the annual meeting. We also publish a quarterly newsletter to keep members informed of group and individual professional activities and initiatives, and we have a dynamic and evolving website www.psychiatryandculture.org. Exhibits will be open from 8 am until closing on the first two days of the meeting (Thursday and Friday, May 5 and 6). Fees for exhibiting are $1,500 for businesses and $1,000 for non-profit organizations and governmental agencies. The exhibitor’s fee entitles you to one table top exhibit booth, listing in the annual meeting program book, and one (1) conference registration for an employee. The registration fee itself is worth between $450. and $800. So, please come join us in Minneapolis and give us the opportunity to get to know you better and our members the chance to get to know you.

An exhibitor registration form is attached for your convenience. Thank you for your interest in the Society for the Study of Psychiatry and Culture. If you have any questions please contact Liz Kramer at (484) 416-3915 or via email at ekramer931@gmail.com. With best wishes we look forward to seeing you in Minneapolis in May.
